SRK wants best SFX

Shahrukh Khan, who’s producing and acting in the sci-fi thriller Ra.One, wants the best special effects (SFX).
SRK has given out to director Anubhav Sinha that ‘Ra.One’ should have the most visually stunning SFX yet seen in any Hindi film.
Sinha further has given instruction to the SFX team to watch and study the special effects in notable Hollywood movies like ‘Avatar’, ‘Star Wars’, ‘X-Men’, ‘Terminator’ and ‘2012’. The team is also sketching and making models of the most imaginative looking characters that might be incorporated in ‘Ra.One’.
SRK and Kareena Kapoor have started shooting the film. The SFX will be added in the post production stages.

Kareena to play Marilyn Monroe

Actress Kareena Kapoor might soon be seen in a memorable role, playing one of the biggest actors known to cinema. Buzz has it that in a Madhur Bhandarkar’s movie she will play the character inspired by Marilyn Monroe.
From a sexy Bipasha Basu to the beautiful Dia Mirza, many actors have tried to do a Monroe at least once. But Kareena’s will be an entirely different case as she will be the only actor who will get to play Monroe in a Bollywood film.
Bebo will be seen in Bhandarkar’s next ambitious project. Reports suggest that he was longing to make a film on the Hollywood star’s life.
Sources claim that the film will be inspired by the American actor’s controversial life. In fact Bhandarkar has been so dedicated that he has been researching on the subject for quite sometime now.
Monroe’s life has intrigued many. Starting as a struggling model, she made it as one of the most celebrated actors of cinema. But her personal life had kept the paparazzi busy, be it her three marriages or her rumoured affair with the then American president John F. Kennedy as well as his brother Senator Robert Kennedy.
While Bhandarkar has found the girl to play Monroe, he is still looking for the male lead for the movie. But for now all eyes are fixed on Bebo.
First a role in the Indian adaptation of Hollywood movie Stepmom and now a role that can make any actor go green with envy. Kareena surely has her kitty full with roles she would have dreamt of.

Endhiran to be made into 3D? Entiran photos

Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Bachchan starring Endhiran is under production. Director Shankar plans to make the film into 3D because he fears piracy and so he wants to curb the unauthorized release of his movie. Tamil industry is facing serious piracy problems and they have Jaggubhai as an example before them. Moreover it is said that Shankar has plans to invest 125 cr. for the 3D version.
It is well aware that Rajinikanth is also acting in a 3D film directed by his daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth and the movie is tilted Sultan, The Warrior. Sultan is basically an animated film which would be converted into 3D. It is an Ocher Studios-Adlabs-Warner Bros venture. The latest buzz about the movie is that it has crossed Rs 600 million in its making.

Asin bags Youth Icon 2010 of Kerala title

Multilingual actress Asin Thottumkal has been voted Youth Icon 2010 of Kerala in a public poll conducted by the Rosebowl TV channel.
“The poll was conducted for over 15 days and involved a lot of personalities. Asin came out the winner since she is intelligent and representative of the thinking youth. She is talented, beautiful and has done Kerala proud,” said a source.
On March 26, the actress was given the honour in the presence of the Who’s Who of the south Indian film industry and political leaders.
“A seven-year-old fan of Asin presented her the award since she idolises Asin. It was a touching gesture and overwhelmed Asin,” said the source.
The actress was also awarded a cash prize which she donated to a hospital’s palliative care department that concentrates on reducing the severity of disease symptoms.

Simbu dubs for Abhishek

There were reports that Mani Ratnam has roped in Silambarasan for his forthcoming film and the actor called on the ace director to discuss the project. While one part of the news is true, the other part seems to be the product of a guessing game.

If sources are to be believed, Silambarasan recently met Mani, not to discuss any future project, but to dub for Abhishek Bachchan in ‘Raavan’, the filmmaker’s magnum opus. “Since Mani found Silambarasan’s voice apt for Abhishek, he requested the actor to dub for the Junior Bachchan, for which the latter responded positively,” sources say.

This is not the first time for Silambarasan to dub for another actor. He was the one who gave voice for the protagonist of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, when the Oscar-winning Danny Boyle film was dubbed in Tamil as ‘Nanum Kotteeswaran’.

An actor by profession, Silambarasan is also a director and singer. Fresh from the success of ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’, he is currently busy with the works of ‘Vaaliban’, his directorial venture in which he also plays the lead role.

Viji Thampi’s ‘April Fool’ is released in 50 theatres across Kerala today. Actor Jagadeesh has written the screen play. The story moves around Rakesh Menon and his wife. Rakesh is a high flying businessman and his wife is a homely person. She comes from a middle class family. Rakesh Menon loved to lead a posh life but his wife who loved painting is interested only in simple style of life. Rakesh goes to club and stays in five star hotels. His wife always advised him to keep the mentality to help the poor and needy instead of being pompous. One day both of them attended a function organised by the club. In the function an untoward incident occurred. Followed the issue the couple parted. Siddique plays the role of Rakesh Menon and debutante Nayana as his wife. Other cast includes Jagadeesh, Jagathy, Biju Menon, K.PA.C Lalitha and Maidhili. Sanjeev Sanker has wielded the camera. Under the banner of Damar Cinema, Santhosh Damodar has produced the film.

Sai Kumar and Manikuttan in ‘Ilapozhiyum Pole’

Manikuttan will be the hero in the film ‘Ilapozhium pole’ to be directed by Gireesh Kunnummal. Manikuttan was the hero in the recently released film ‘Valiyangadi.’ Pooja of the film was performed in Kochi. Shoot will begin at Payyannoor in April. Other cast includes Vijayaraghavan, Jagathy, Riyaz Khan, Indrans, Sruthi Lakshmi, Bindu Panicker, Kalpana and others. K.P Kumaran is the producer.
