And it was never Deepika Padukone, as reported in a section of the press. “Asin plays the lead. I wonder where Deepika’s name came from!,” says director Bazmee, currently preparing for a month-long shooting of his new film Thank You in Canada.

Anees also denies the story that Salman asked him to sign Asin. “The role requires a chulbuli, vivacious, talkative and agile girl. Asin was the natural choice.”

In fact, Genelia D’Souza, the first choice for all ‘chulbuli vivacious-girl parts, was working with Anees Bazmee in yet another remake Its My Life (original Telugu film Bommarillu). Genelia was Anees’ natural choice.

In Ghost House Inn takes extraordinary opening!

In Ghost House Inn, the third part to Harihar Nagar, has taken a fantastic opening across 75 screens in Kerala.

The film has been declared by the trade as a hit, though among the audiences it carries mixed reports.

In Ernakulam in four days from March 25 to 28 in two screens Shenoys and Padma it has netted a whopping Rs 11, 51,000. In Kottayam at the huge Abhilash the film is going “Houseful”, on Monday (March 29), fifth day of its release.

In Thiruvananthapuram Sri Padmanabha, the film on its fifth day of release is still doing 100 percent. At Chennai’s Sangam and Mayajaal the film has reported 100 percent during the weekend.

In Ghost House Inn, is the first big hit of 2010, and is poised to become bigger with closure of educational institutions and no opposition.

Ricky Martin is proud to be a gay!

‘Puerto Rican’ popstar Ricky Martin, who fathered two children with a surrogate mother two years ago, has finally put an end to the speculation over his sexuality by admitting that he is gay. He said that he had kept his sexuality hidden so far because his advisers had told him coming out could hurt his career.

Now, Ricky Martin has confirmed his longtime gay rumors on his official website. The pop singer writes, “I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am. Today, I have accepted my homosexuality as a gift that gives me life.”

Martin, 38, told his fans that his decision to divulge his sexual orientation was an amazing turning point in his life and it started a few months ago when he began the process of writing his memoirs. He says that his decision to write his memoirs had helped him to free “things that were too heavy to keep inside”.
