I have that freedom to speak: Kushboo

Kushboo is all smiles these days, with support coming to her comments on premarital sex from a body no lesser than Supreme Court. The apex court’s observation that there was nothing illegal about live-in relationships and premarital sex amongst adults has boosted the morale of the actress.

Says Kushboo, who is known for her fearless remarks irrespective of the issue she is talking about, “We have a completely dependable judiciary. And I feel it now more than ever. The Supreme Court’s direction clearly shows freedom of speech does exist in India.”

On her five-year legal battle, the actress, who earned the wrath of many organisations when she made the comments in 2005, says, “I fought for my daughters. Because, I have to tell them that they should feel proud of their mom.”

She adds: “I am now clear that I can speak my mind freely. At the same time, I know my limits and responsibilities. I would like to thank my family members, friends and well-wishers who have supported me all these years.”

“It was my dream to act with Kamal Haasan right from the day I entered film industry. I was on cloud nine when I was roped in for ‘Marmayogi’. But the joy didn’t last long as the film was stopped due to unavoidable reasons,” says Trisha.

“And I am on cloud nine again,” the actress says and adds: “Because, I am there in Kamal sir’s next film. I signed the film simply after hearing the story over the phone. How could I reject an offer to work with such a genius?”

Heaping laurels on the ‘Ulaga Nayagan’, she says, “He is one of the most intelligent persons I have ever met. He is a master of all subjects and knows anything and everything. You can discuss with him whatever you want.”

On her Hindi debut ‘Khatta Meetha’, directed by Priyadarshan with Akshay Kumar in the lead, Trisha says, “Most part of the shoot is over and a 15-day schedule alone is left. The film has come out well and it’s going to be a perfect launch for me in Bollywood. I enjoyed acting with Akshay Kumar”.

‘Anwar’ will be the best-Prithvi

Young superstar Prithviraj who was recently injured while shooting for Amal Neerad’s ‘Anwar’, is in all praise for the director. Pinning high hopes on the project, Prithvi sees this as one of his best movies which deals with the fate of an educated person who is forced to join terrorist activities.

A suspense story dealing with some realistic condition of youth in Malabar, the movie is much awaited one as it is rumoured to tell something about the ”Love Jihad” issue, that has been in the news for quite some time recently.

The movie will also feature Prakash Raj as the chief of Anti Terrorist Squad who is in the lookout of Anwar and his terrorist outfits.

Lt. Col. Mohan Lal completes post commission training; Honoured in civic reception

Super star Lt. Col. Mohan Lal completed his three days post commission training camp in Territorial Army station camp at Kannur. He said it was a blessing of God to be an actor and soldier simultaneously. He continued that his experiences while attending shoot in patriotic films and the suffering of soldiers in Kargil and Kashmir Army camps had encouraged him to be a part of defence wing. By making him brand ambassador of Territorial Army, he said, it only increased his responsibility. It is not like being an Ambassador of a product. But it is the duty to make awareness among Indian citizens the value of love for our country and to be a part of our TA units in the country as India was facing threats from inside and outside. He said he will not accept any role with anti nation character who fights against our country in future. After the training a civic reception was given to him by the Territorial Army along with hundreds of people and celebrities. The function held at the Jawahar Stadium was attended by a huge crowd. Lt. Col. Mohanlal and Battalion Commandant Col. Davidson Kolath reached the venue in an open jeep ahead of the parade. A ceremonial parade by the Territorial Army jawans and a display of their weapons and trophies preceded after the reception. The pageantry included cultural shows Pulikali and Theyyam. MPs K. Sudhakaran and P. Karunakaran, Minister Ramachandran Kadannappally and District Collector V.K. Balakrishnan were present. A.P. Abdullakutty MLA presided over the function.

Devika got married

South Indian film actress Sree Devika (Sree Devi) got married to her relative Rohit Ramachandran, a pilot in Air India. She is daughter of Manabrakaattu Sethu Madhavan and Sobha, Palakaad Kunnathurmed Eladhiyan Enclave ‘Sree Lakshmiranga’ . Rohit is son of M.Ramachandran and Hema of Palakaad Kodumbu Kanjiramkunnu ‘Sree Nilayam’. Devika made her entry through Tamil film ‘Rama Krishna’ directed by Agathiyan. Her Malayalam films are ‘Avan Chandiyudae makan’ , ‘Parthan kanda paralokam’ with Jayaram and ‘Chambada’ with Bala. She has also done four Kannada films.
